FAQ

Q1. Can I run NEOPARD on any mobile device?

NEOPARD is supported on smartphones, tablets and netbooks running Android >= 4.x.

Other operating systems are not yet supported.

Q2. How to configure NEOPARD application?

Follow the NEOPARD configuration video here.

Q3. What should i do if one of my applications doesn't work anymore?

NEOPARD works as a proxy and redirects data traffic to a compression server.

Although a large number of mobile applications has been tested, it might happen that some specific applications do not support proxy mode.

In this case, simply move this specific application into the list of non optimized applications (left column) and continue to use NEOPARD. The mobile application not supporting proxy mode will not be optimized but others will still benefit from data reduction.

Q4. How can I report a bug or suggest a new feature?

You can directly report an issue from NEOPARD application by selecting “Report a bug” from the menu.

You can also request assistance by email at support@exalinks.com

Your feedback is welcomed and we will look closely at your demands and feature requests.

Q5. Why are NEOPARD statistics not always matching data volumes displayed in Android systems?

NEOPARD only counts data when service is enabled. It means statistics start when NEOPARD is launched and not necessarily from mobile device bootup.

  • If you disable NEOPARD, data consumed is not counted anymore by NEOPARD, and you don’t benefit from data reduction
  • If you reset NEOPARD statistics, data consumption history is lost.

In case you need to visualize data consumed on a period or complete history, you should check it from Android system by selecting Data Volume in Parameters menu.

Q6. Why do I get a warning regarding VPN usage when I start NEOPARD application?

NEOPARD uses VPN feature of Android system in order to access network and redirect data traffic to a compression proxy server.

When launching NEOPARD, Android makes necessary that user validates the VPN connection. This is imposed by Android system and the same for any other application using VPN interface. Android informs you that traffic goes through a secured tunnel before reaching its final destination.

This is a normal behavior, and when NEOPARD starts, you need to validate and confirm that you authorize NEOPARD VPN connection.

Q7. How can I uninstall NEOPARD application?
